Vanesa Littlecrow’s Artist Statement

Wonder Woman is my favorite comics superhero. Pussy Galore is my favorite Bond villain (especially in the book). Jem is my favorite cartoon singer. The current incarnation of Ace Machiavelli is a twisted of combination of all these fictional ladies, and an embodiment of the ideological mess that feminism has become.

Feminism in its present form, has an identity crisis so profound, it makes an amnesiac suffering from severe schizophrenia appear lucid. Ace’s physical and mental attributes are pointed critiques of these ideological contradictions, using gutterotica principles. She is at once the ultimate fantasy and the worst nightmare for both feminism and the typical male.

in an effort to give my readers what i thought they wanted, i attempted to learn anatomy and perspective. realizing that my readers seemed to prefer the childish scribblings of a demented gypsy to actual art, i am determined to give my loyal fans what they really want. crap. so, i let vas draw the actual art. as long as you people want to see my stuff. i’ll keep drawing it. enjoy.
